Qatar Bayley III Training Workshop

Q-Prem team (Dr. Ghassan Abdoh and Prof. Muthanna Samara) organised a new Two-day Training Workshop for Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development Third Edition (Bayley-III), but this time at Women’s Hospital, Doha, Qatar. The training was attended by 35 participants, and Dr. Betty Hutchon (DSc MBAOT Head Paediatric Occupational Therapist).

This was an introductory workshop to the Bayley III, which assesses developmental functioning for infants and young children aged from 1 month to 42 months. The training was interactive and introduced course participants to the Bayley III and included both video case studies and ‘live’ demonstrations with a young child. Our participants learned how to administer and score the Cognitive, Language and Motor scales as well as the Social Emotional and Adaptive Behaviour Scales.

The aims and objectives on completion of this workshop are to be able to: Administer and score the Bayley-III, chart a child’s progress using Bayley-III, understand the constructs upon which the Bayley-III is based, interpret and communicate outcomes from Bayley-III.
